TRAINEE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS
Here at Great Eccleston Health Centre, we have a long tradition of training other
health care professionals. This includes doctors, nurses and other vocations such
as counselling, health visiting etc.
Doctors completing their vocational training in general practice (GP registrars)
work as members of the team for periods of up to one year. They already have hospital
experience and are well qualified to share in the care of patients.
Final year medical students from Manchester University are attached to the practice
to gain experience.
Nurses in their final year at University also spend time with us, as do other
disciplines. You may be asked if you would mind speaking to a student before your
consultation with a qualified doctor or nurse etc. You are, of course, under no
obligation to see students, and can refuse to see them if you wish.
